Symphony of the Seas

Symphony of the Seas, the 25th ship to join the Royal Caribbean International (RCI) fleet, has officially launched, with its inaugural voyage set for April.

The ship, which RCI reports as the largest cruise ship in the world, has capacity for 5,518 guests. Onboard the ship boasts seven ‘neighbourhoods’, has the tallest slide at sea called the Ultimate Abyss, and a glow-in-the-dark laser tag game.

The ship’s maiden seven-night Mediterranean voyage departs on 7th April from Barcelona, before homeporting in Barcelona for the summer, visiting Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Provence in France, and Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples in Italy.

Symphony will then homeport in Miami from November, becoming the first RCI Oasis Class ship to sail from Royal Caribbean’s new state-of-the-art Terminal A.

Highlights onboard

Groups choosing to sail on Symphony of the Seas can enjoy culinary delights in Hooked Seafood, a restaurant offering New England-inspired seafood, and Sugar Beach – a sweet and ice cream shop with more than 100 types of sweets to choose from.

Active guests can experience Battle for Planet Z – Royal Caribbean’s first glow-in-the-dark laser tag game that brings two teams of eight head to head.

Or try Escape the Rubicon, a race against the clock in the Rubicon submarine escape room to solve a collection of puzzles before time runs out.

With regards to accommodation, families can take advantage of the 'Ultimate Family Suite’: a two-level suite with features including an in-room slide, a private cinema, a floor-to-ceiling LEGO wall, and a balcony complete with table tennis and a full-size whirlpool.

Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, commented: “Symphony is the perfect blend of our greatest hits we know guests love, and a line-up of vibrant, new restaurants, activities and unparalleled entertainment – all purposefully designed around holidaymakers’ preferences.”
