The UK Holiday Group has partnered with u3a to launch u3a getaways, a new programme of specialist UK tours for members, kicking off in 2027 with six introductory trips including a wildlife break on Dartmoor and a wine-focused tour based in Harrogate.

The new partnership brings together the travel expertise of The UK Holiday Group, which has more than 40 years’ experience in the industry, with u3a’s focus on learning, shared interests and community. The group plans to expand u3a getaways programme of trips for 2027, introducing more specialist tours to the agenda.
Group managing director of The UK Holiday Group, Paul Bennett, said: “Travel is about so much more than simply visiting somewhere new. It’s about the stories behind the places we visit, discovering something unexpected, and creating memories. That is exactly what we want to bring to u3a getaways.’’
Selected staycations
Holidays announced so far for 2027 include Go Wild in Dartmoor, which is in partnership with the Dartmoor Zoological Society. The two-night trip features a visit to Dartmoor Zoo along with an enrichment session and an informative talk with experts.

Then in May next year, the Wine Lovers Unite tour is described as being perfect for experienced wine lovers. You’ll be based in Harrogate and visit the Ryedale Vineyard for an informative guided tour and tasting as part of the itinerary.
The package also includes a wine tasting experience with an expert in which you’ll taste and learn about ten different wines, the basics of wine labelling terminology as well as pairing food and wine.
