The former managing director of Success Tours has completed a management buyout of the Albatross Group of Companies, which includes the Wiltshire-based group tour operator Success Tours.
Steve Hornby has teamed up with Albatross Group’s chief financial officer Adam Handy, in order to complete the buyout.
Sean Taggart, former Group CEO, is leaving the business to pursue a range of other interests. Although he will no longer have any operational involvement in the business, he will continue to offer his support to the business as a non-executive director.
Steve commented: “It has been an incredible journey since I first joined Albatross back in 1999 including my time at the helm of Success Tours before returning to Albatross in 2012. It is a testament to the strength and diversity of the Group that our bankers, Lloyds Bank, were so keen to assist us with this deal and I just can’t wait to begin the next chapter.”
Steve continues to live with his family in Wiltshire, close to the Success Tours offices in Trowbridge, spending two to three days a week at the Group’s head office in Kent.

Success Tours will be exhibiting at this year’s Group Leisure and Travel Show on 12th October 2017 which takes place in Hall 18 of the NEC Birmingham.
