The rail tour specialist has released its 2027 holidays, featuring the return of popular routes and new itineraries across South Korea, Northern England and the Baltic capitals.

Ffestiniog Travel’s new programme features almost 40 escorted rail holidays spanning the UK, Europe and long-haul destinations.
It includes a new tour of North West England, featuring the stunning landscapes of the north, heritage steam railways and the scenic Settle & Carlisle line.
The European collection has expanded and now features new routes across Germany, Switzerland, France and beyond. Rail enthusiasts will enjoy Poland & the Wolsztyn Steam Locomotive Parade, while itineraries through West Germany, the Black Forest and Alsace come highly recommended for private groups.
Far-flung highlights of the 2027 programme include an all-new circular itinerary in South Korea, hitting hotspots like Seoul and Busan, and an extended route reaching the far north of Japan.

New specialist UK tour
The new route in North West England is ideal for groups passionate about rail and heritage. Travelling by steam locomotives, the route calls through vibrant towns and spectacular natural landscapes, including Blackpool, Lake Windermere and Dumfries.
This tour includes journeys on the Settle & Carlisle, Keighley & Worth Valley, Ravenglass & Eskdale and Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railways, as well as a steamer cruise on Lake Windermere and visits to cultural attractions. Unlimited travel on the iconic Blackpool trams is also included.
Starting in Leeds, the nine-day itinerary will take place in early September 2027.

Festive breaks in 2026
Groups looking to get away for a festive break this year can travel to the Christmas market in Dresden, with excursions to surviving steam railways in the area, or explore the markets around Bodensee (Lake Constance). Germany, Austria and Switzerland border the lake and the itinerary includes stops in all three as well as a cruise on the Christmas Ship. Both routes last eight days.
Or spend the full two weeks over Christmas and New Years exploring Switzerland by rail including travel on bucket-list railways. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be spent at leisure in Lucerne, followed by rail travel on the Glacier Express, Bernina Express and Rhaetian Railways - some of the most picturesque journeys in the world.
Ffestiniog Travel offers discounted rail tickets for groups of ten or more. Bespoke rail tours can be created for groups to accommodate particular interests and all tours are led by experts.
