About 20 vessels blew their horns and a piper played before and after the display. It included Mersey Ferries, the Disney Magic cruise liner, RNLI lifeboats, river tugs and pilot launch boats.

They gathered on the city’s River Mersey at 2pm on Wednesday, 14th September, to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who died on 8th September.

The tribute took place in front of the Three Graces - the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building.

Huge crowds turned out to watch the display with the river tugs performing Fleur De Lis which is spraying of water from their fire cannons.
