The Original Tour

The Original Tour has launched open-top bus experiences in Windsor suitable for groups, to mark the royal milestones taking place this year.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead will be celebrating two royal weddings this year, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to marry at St. George’s Chapel on 19th May, and Princess Eugenie marrying Jack Brooksbank on 12th October.

With this in mind, The Original Tour will be offering new guided experiences to help visitors discover the rich history and heritage, and beauty of Windsor.

What will groups see on a tour?

During the tours, which are now available for booking, groups of ten or more can enjoy an open-top bus tour of the British and Royal town of Windsor for a ‘culturally rich hop-on hop-off’ experience.

Sights to be seen include the iconic Windsor Castle, which sits at the heart of this picturesque town and has been a home to British Kings and Queens for over 1,000 years. Visitors can step off the bus to admire the palace grounds and may even get a glimpse of The Queen.

The tour will pass by the renowned Eton College, whose famous alumni includes 19 British Prime Ministers, various members of the Royal Family like Princes William and Harry and a handful of famous actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston.

The tour allows for groups to stop off and enjoy the Changing of the Guard ceremony, which takes place every other day, as Windsor High Street comes to life with a traditional parade.

For those who have worked up an appetite, the Windsor Farm Shop is an ideal place to stop for locally produced products.

Groups looking to appreciate Windsor from a second perspective can also package their tour booking with a French Brothers 40-minute boat cruise. This experience cruises down the river Thames, offering passengers views of the traditional English countryside, as well as the Castle from this unique vantage point.

Group organisers looking to book this experience can contact 020-8877 2120 or e-mail groups@theoriginaltour.com.
