The Holby City star will perform alongside Giovanna Fletcher in the upcoming touring production which opens in Richmond in January 2027.

Based on the 2011 best-selling debut novel by S J Watson, a major UK and Ireland tour of Before I Go to Sleep will open at the Richmond Theatre on 15th January 2027 and run until the end of June, heading to venues in Bath, Chichester and Cornwall among other locations.
Holby City favourite Tom Chambers will be starring alongside Giovanna Fletcher in the gripping psychological thriller. Fletcher will play the role of Christine, a woman who wakes up every morning with no memory, while Chambers will be performing as Ben, Christine’s husband.
Before I Go To Sleep has been adapted by Rachel Wagstaff and directed by Loveday Ingram, the creative team behind the 2025 stage adaptation of The Girl on the Train, which also starred Giovanna Fletcher.
It has been confirmed that Fletcher will perform for the entire leg of the tour, while Chambers will appear in the production until 3rd April. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Meet the cast

Tom Chambers is best known for his TV appearances in Father Brown, Holby City and Waterloo Road. He also went on to win the 2008 series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing. The English actor has an extensive stage career, having played the lead roles in Top Hat, Crazy for You and Dial M for Murder.
Tom Chambers said: “It’s such a brilliantly unsettling story, and what I love about it is that you’re never quite sure who or what to believe. I can’t wait to get into rehearsals and bring this extraordinary thriller to audiences around the country.”
Alongside Chambers, audiences will see actor, author and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher, who is no stranger to taking on darker roles. Fletcher has previously led the casts of 2:22 A Ghost Story and the UK tour of The Girl on the Train.
Giovanna Fletcher said: “It’s such a gripping story and the relationship between Christine and Ben is right at the heart of it. It’s going to be a lot of fun working on those twists and turns in the rehearsal room and I think audiences are going to love seeing the action unfold on stage.”
A psychological production
While it seems that Christine has an idyllic life, she wakes up every morning with no memory of the past 20 years after having suffered severe trauma from a car accident. She attempts to piece everything together, but the dark truth begins to come into focus.
S.J. Watson’s debut novel, Before I Go to Sleep, sold more than six million copies worldwide and the long awaited sequel is set for publication in May 2027, coinciding with the final stint of the tour.
The thriller was later turned into a box-office success in 2014, starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth.
Groups will need to contact individual venues for group tickets and bookings.
