A new musical called Some Guys Have all the Luck, which celebrates the life and music of singer Rod Stewart, has just began a tour of UK venues.
The musical stars Rod Stewart tribute performer Paul Metcalfe in the lead role, and features a live band. Audiences can expect a multitude of Rod Stewart hits, plus an insight into the singer’s career.
Some Guys Have all the Luck opened at the end of March in Hertfordshire, and will continue to tour the nation until 30th November, when it will close at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Synopsis
The first half of Some Guys Have all the Luck charts Rod's rise to fame from his early days singing in the R&B clubs of the 60s, through to his worldwide success in the early 70s.
It features songs from the earlier part of Rod's career, including Handbags & Gladrags, In A Broken Dream, Stay With Me, Ooh La La and Wear It Well.
The second half of the show is presented in the style of a Rod Stewart concert. Spectators should expect swaggering showmanship and audience participation. Hits during this section of the production include Maggie May, Sailing, Baby Jane, and Da Ya Think I'm Sexy.
