The Shuttleworth Collection

The Shuttleworth Collection and Swiss Gardens near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire has announced its programme of events for 2017.

The programme, which begins in May and concludes in October 2017, includes multiple air shows, outdoor theatre performances and a regency garden party. 

The Season Premiere Air Show on Sunday 7th May will launch the season at Shuttleworth. The day will include live music, vehicle parades and a flying display of visiting and collection aircraft.

Additional air shows include the Classic Evening Air Show on Saturday 20th May and Saturday 17th June, The Shuttleworth Collection’s Fly Navy Day on Sunday 4th June, and a World War One Evening Air Show on Saturday 15th July that will feature a flying display by visiting World War One aircraft.

Also occurring in 2017 will be The Shuttleworth Collection’s 20th anniversary of Flying Proms where aerial displays from vintage aircraft will be performed to popular classical music. This event will take place on Saturday 19th August.

Meanwhile, away from the aircraft, groups will be able to enjoy outdoor theatre performances of Pride and Prejudice and Wind in the Willows against the backdrop of the recently restored late Regency garden, the Swiss Garden.

A Regency garden party will also make the most of the Swiss Garden setting that boasts 13 listed buildings, bridges, water features and arches. Visitors to the afternoon event on Sunday 16th July are invited to come dressed as Jane Austen or Mr Darcy and join in in period outdoor games and enjoy Regency entertainment, food and drink.

The Shuttleworth season will conclude with a race day and air show finale on Sunday 1st October.

Pre-booking is essential for groups, however groups do benefit from discounts to Shuttleworth. Free coach parking is also available.
