Discover Dawlish and Dawlish Warren in south Devon have launched a new group travel itinerary for 2025 to showcase the town and local attractions to visitors.

Dawlish

Dawlish is located on the south coast of Devon, 12 miles from Exeter.

Based on the south Devon coast, Dawlish is a traditional seaside town known for its black swans, picturesque seafront and scenic railway line.

Local business and accommodation providers have come together to create the itinerary for groups and coach tour operators to showcase the town. The itinerary blends a visit to the historic Powderham Castle, which dates back over 600 years, with time by the seaside, to provide an experience for groups of varying sizes and interests.

Jo Butler, general manager of Visit South Devon said: “We’re excited to welcome groups to Dawlish and Powderham Castle and show them the very best of what our town has to offer.

“From relaxing beach days to exploring hidden gems, there’s something here for every kind of group visit – and we make it easy for groups to plan and enjoy a seamless trip.”

What’s available for groups?

Highlights of the itinerary include Powderham Castle, shopping in Dawlish and seaside walks and heritage trails. The castle offers expert-led guided tours with special rates for groups of 15 or more and free entry for the group organiser and coach driver. Coach parking and drop-off is located on site.

Dawlish Warren is another highlight. The nearby Blue Flag beach and nature reserve is suitable for birdwatching, beach games and picnics, with public toilets, cafés and amusements located close by.

Other group-friendly attractions include Dawlish Museum, where visitors can learn about local history on pre-arranged private group tours and the South West Coast Path, a walking trail which runs through the town and has various routes with different difficulty levels.

GTOs can take advantage of group bookings at local accommodation. Welcome Family Holiday Park, Langstone Cliff Hotel and Cofton Holidays all welcome group bookings, with the latter offering discounts, entertainments and flexible catering.
