Gardener, presenter and author Frances Tophill will talk about garden visits for the changing seasons at the 2023 Group Leisure & Travel Show.

Frances has been a regular presenter on the popular TV programme Gardeners’ World since 2016 and is passionate about the environment, conservation and sustainability, as well as crafting.

She joins a Seminar Theatre line-up that already includes travel journalist, Simon Calder.

This year’s Group Leisure & Travel Show takes place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on Thursday 5th October.

The Seminar Theatre is free to attend and is open to all visitors. The third celebrity speaker is due to be announced soon.

Frances Tophill’s television work has also included ITV’s Love Your Garden and she designed her first show garden last year, winning Best Show Garden for a design that showcased her love of ‘upcycle gardening’ and sustainability.

Her love of gardening started when, aged 19 and after a childhood and youth spent exploring the wild landscapes, she started her apprenticeship in horticulture at the salutation gardens, and went on to grow into a passion for plants and the natural world through her studies under the incredible botanists at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

“I am sure GTOs will be very interested in what Frances has to say and will pick up plenty of inspiration from her talk.”

GLT Show organiser Sharon Yandell

Originally from Kent, Frances now lives in Devon and has appeared at Blenheim Palace Flower Show, Hampton Court Flower Show and the Eden Project Green Fingers Festival to name a few.

She has written a number of books including The First-Time Gardener, The Container Gardener and The Modern Gardener.

GLT Show organiser, Sharon Yandell said: “We know that garden visits are an absolute staple of group trips so it’s great to have Frances join us at this year’s show.”

As ever, group organisers will get free entry to the GLT Show where they can listen to this year’s sessions in the Seminar Theatre and meet the best of the travel trade.

Exhibitors will include top attractions, hotels, tour operators, tourist boards and cruise lines, all ready to help with ideas, advice and offers.

Visitors and exhibitors will be able to park for free right outside the venue and enjoy a complimentary bacon butty breakfast and light lunch.
