Simon Calder

Simon Calder shared what happens behind the scenes of his busy job at the 2023 show.

The travel expert is the second speaker to be confirmed for this year’s exhibition, joining Paul Martin from popular TV show Flog It!

Simon Calder is a popular and regular guest at the event. He told us: “I love the GLT Show and therefore I’m thrilled to come and see everyone and see what’s going on. It’s important to keep thinking of new ideas. I love hearing from people about what’s inspiring them and where they are travelling to.

“It’s only when you get together with people that you can properly understand what’s happening in the industry, make some smart choices, develop contacts and get a full sense of the amazing opportunities around us.

“We’re sociable creatures, we like to meet each other, exchange new ideas and come up with new and inspiring opportunities and that’s what a travel event like this is all about.”

Show organiser, Sharon Yandell said: “The Group Leisure & Travel Show is the number one event in its sector - don’t take our word for that, that is the feedback we receive from group travel organisers and the travel trade.

“We are delighted that Simon Calder is joining us again this year and we know many people will come to the exhibition to hear from him and the advice and experiences he shares.

“The 2024 exhibition is already proving very popular with exhibitors - there will be a wide range of attractions, tour operators, cruise lines and more coming together to do business with GTOs and coach operators - we cannot wait!”
