River cruise operator Riviera Travel has revealed its European river cruise schedule for 2020 including a new ship and cruise itinerary.

The ‘Vienna, Bohemia & Treasures of the Danube’ cruise with Riviera Travel will take in Vienna’s Baroque architecture and dazzling palaces. 

Launching next year, the new ship, MS Geoffrey Chaucer, will be sailing five itineraries including; the Heart of Europe, The Blue Danube and Bruges, Medieval Flanders, Amsterdam and the Dutch Bulbfields

It will have capacity for 169 passengers as well as offering a sun-deck, splash pool and a putting green.

Riviera has also added a new cruise itinerary for 2020 on board MS Thomas Hardy called Vienna, Bohemia & Treasures of the Danube. It takes in Vienna’s fine architecture and palaces before cruising down the Danube alongside the vine-clad slopes of the Wachau Valley and exploring the towns in the region.

Just some of the itinerary highlights include: 

  • Guided tours of medieval Regensburg. 
  • Picture-perfect Linz, set amidst a fairy-tale Bohemian landscape of rolling hills. 
  • Discovery of the famous abbeys at Göttweig and Aldersbach. 
  • A live classical quartet recital on board. 

It is scheduled for July to September and includes seven-nights full board accommodation as well as a programme of daily tours and excursions.
