The Play That Goes Wrong - West End cast

The Play That Goes Wrong, currently playing at the Duchess Theatre in London, has revealed a UK tour for 2018 which has had its cast confirmed.

The 2018 UK tour will open at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate on 4th January, visiting 34 venues nationwide until September 2018. The show is described as a ‘highly physical comedy packed with finely-tuned farce and Buster Keaton-inspired slapstick delivered with split-second timing and ambitious daring’.

The play introduces the ‘Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’ who are attempting to put on a 1920s’ murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong, does. Audiences will enjoy watching the accident-prone thespians battle on against all the odds to get to their final curtain call.

The touring cast will include Jake Curran as Chris, Catherine Dryden as Annie, Bobby Hirston as Max, and Benjamin McMahon as Dennis. Gabriel Paul will take on the role of Trevor, Steven Rostance will play Jonathan, Kazeem Tosin Amore will be Robert, and Elena Valentine will play Sandra.

Understudies will include: David Kristopher-Brown, Laura White, Liam Horrigan, and Louisa Sexton.

Group Leisure & Travel previously spoke to Leonard Cook, who has been starring as Robert in the West End production. He said: “It’s just a lot of laughs and a lot of slapstick comedy - characters get knocked out by doors, pieces of set fall down and the audience will see how these characters deal with it, with what might not always be a logical solution.”
