Efteling has revealed mock-up sketches of new features expected in the Raveleijn area, reopening later this year.
Dutch theme park, Efteling, will welcome visitors on 1st December for its updated park show, Raveleijn: Battle for the City and themed area, following a £20m renovation project.
The teaser previews the new Raveleijn park show, accompanying ride Ravenring, updated city, upgraded food and drink facilities and new souvenir shop.
Efteling originally opened its doors in 1952 and has quickly grown to become one of Europe’s biggest theme parks, with a total of 34 amusement rides and five million annual visitors.
Director of Product, marketing & image, Koen Sanders, said: “The sets have been extensively revamped and Raveleijn is getting a brand-new show packed with spectacular stunts, created in collaboration with the French theme park Puy du Fou.”
What is Raveleijn?
Raveleijn: Battle for the City is a 20-minute live action show performed at various intervals throughout the day. While the show is performed in Dutch, there are audio boxes available with English translations for visitors.
Since opening in 2011, Raveleijn has grown into one of Efteling’s best known productions, where five ordinary children pass through a secret gate, transform into brave riders and subsequently must protect the city from evil.
This December, visitors will follow the day of Thomas and Samira’s wedding, where a dark force awaken and disrupt the celebrations. The battle for the city commences. To help keep the city of Raveleijn safe, visitors can test their flying skills on its new ride, Ravenring.
Efteling has five other themed areas around the park, known as realms, each offering different atmospheres and distinct experiences for visitors. The theme park includes more than 80 attractions as well as immersive storytelling for groups to enjoy.
Group booking information
Groups of 20 or more can enjoy discounted entry to Efteling theme park when they book together. Larger groups of anywhere between 20 to 10,000 can privately hire the park by emailing events@efteling.com.
Located in Kaatsheuvel, groups can get the Eurostar to Amsterdam or Rotterdam or fly directly. There are regular trains and buses to Efteling theme park.
