The modern military museum in North Yorkshire has unveiled an action-packed line up of events throughout the year, including tank displays and Living History Weekends designed to bring wartime history to life for visitors.

Originally built in 1942 to house Italian and German Prisoners of War, today Eden Camp welcomes history buffs and inquisitive visitors keen to explore life in wartime Britain.
The museum, near Malton and a recent addition to the Continuum Attractions group, has announced an exciting calendar of weekend and holiday events throughout the year designed to transport visitors back to the 1940s.
History comes alive
From re-enactments to military vehicle displays, this year’s events promise an immersive experience for groups, exploring the personal stories, struggles and resilience of those who lived through the world wars.
The events calendar kicks off in late May with a week-long celebration of tanks, followed by a summer honouring women at war and Living History Weekends that involve authentic re-enactments, period uniforms and demonstrations that delve into life at home and on the front line of both world wars (era-appropriate fancy dress encouraged).
- May Half Term Tank Week (23rd-31st May)
- Modern Military Weekend (6th-7th June)
- WWI Living History Weekend (11th-12th July)
- Summer holidays fun | Women at War (18th July-1st September)
- Living History Weekend - Homefront Heroes (29th-30th August)
- Back to the 1940s (10th-11th October)
- October Half Term Spy Week (24th-29th October)
The World War One weekend in July will bring history to life across the museum grounds. Groups will be able to witness living history displays, period uniforms and demonstrations of wartime life on the front line. There will be appearances from The Hull Rifles and The 1914-21 Society as well as family-friendly activities and educational talks.
The Living History Weekend in August invites groups to step back in time with displays, talks and activities for different interests. Expect live music, dancing, authentic fashion and the chance to try your hand at authentic ration recipes.

Year-round exhibits
In addition to the new events, Eden Camp houses a vast collection of historic military vehicles and over 100,000 artefacts, documents and photographs, many of which are on display year-round as part of its permanent exhibits.
The 22 original Prisoner of War huts still stand and have been restored to serve as immersive displays that look back on all aspects of World War Two, including The Blitz, the Home Guard, rationing and more.

Planning a group trip
Groups of 10 or more are offered reduced rates for pre-booked tickets, with coach parking and private talks available.
The site is fully accessible, and WinStan’s Bunker Café onsite serves hearty hot meals, sandwiches, snacks and drinks.
