Come From Away shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11. 

Come From Away is taking to the road directly from the West End where it celebrated more than 1,000 performances and played to more than 850,000 people at the Phoenix Theatre.

Opening in Leicester on 1st March 2024, the musical will then travel to the likes of Liverpool, Southampton, Leeds, Nottingham, Wimbledon Norwich and Milton Keynes, before ending its run in Salford on 5th January 2025. You can see the full list of dates and venues by clicking here.

The musical shares the incredible true story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives.

The first female American Airlines captain, the quick-thinking town mayor, the mother of a New York firefighter and the eager local news reporter are among the many real characters caught at the start of the moment that changed the course of history, and whose stories became a true celebration of hope, humanity, and unity.

Twelve actors tell the story of both the Islanders and the Plane People, revealing the fear and uncertainty that came with the terrorist attacks, as well as the profound generosity and compassion of strangers. 

The international hit musical has celebrated record-breaking engagements in the West End, on Broadway, in Canada, throughout Australia, and on a 60-city North American Tour.

It has won a string of awards including four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical in London as well as the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical on Broadway.
