The Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of Fiddler on the Roof will transfer to the West End this year.

Trevor Nunn’s critically acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Andy Nyman and Judy Kuhn, is due to transfers to the reconfigured Playhouse Theatre from March until 15th June.

The production, which officially opens on 27th March with previews from 21st March, is currently running at the Menier Chocolate Factory, where it will completes its run on 9th March. 

Public booking opens on 6th February. The full cast for the transfer will be announced shortly.

Synopsis: Fiddler on the Roof

Old traditions and young love collide in this joyous and timely celebration of life. Tevye’s daughters’ unexpected choice of husbands opens his heart to new possibilities, as his close-knit community also feel winds of change blowing through their tiny village.

The musical features the iconic score including Tradition, Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Sunrise, Sunset and If I Were a Rich Man, and is packed with Jerome Robbins’ original Tony award-winning choreography.

About the cast and crew

Andy Nyman is an award-winning actor, director and writer. As well as Fiddler on the Roof, his work for the Menier includes Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins and Abigail’s Party

Judy Kuhn has released four studio albums, and sang the title role in the 1995 film Pocahontas, including her rendition of the song Colors of the Wind, which won its composers the Academy Award for Best Original Song. 

From 1968 to 1986, Trevor Nunn was the youngest ever Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, directing over thirty productions, including most of the Shakespeare canon, as well as Nicholas Nickleby and Les Misérables.
