A water sports platform, choice of four restaurants, wellness studio and spacious accommodation are among the highlights offered on the new AmaMagna river cruise ship, which begins sailing next year.

AmaWaterways has released details of its new river cruising ship which will sleep up to 196 people and will be double the standard width of modern river cruise ships.

Due to launch in May 2019, AmaMagna will sail seven-night rotations along the Danube, with itineraries visiting cities such as Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.

Groups will get to indulge in the flavours of Austria’s renowned Wachau Valley wine region, or take in UNESCO World Heritage Sites and visit Europe’s Christmas markets.

What’s onboard?

Accommodation: 53 suites will all offer full-width balconies and marble bathrooms, plus there are an additional 34 staterooms with balconies, and 11 staterooms with large fixed windows.

Dining: All AmaWaterways’ ships currently offer a choice between the main restaurant and speciality ‘Chef’s Table’ where guests can watch a multi-course taster menu being prepared. The new ship will offer two additional options for those seeking more variety - Al Fresco, accommodating up to 35 diners, and Jimmy’s Wine Bar Restaurant, pairing fine dining with speciality wines.

Activities: The AmaMagna will feature an expansive Zen Wellness Studio, complete with a large exercise area offering group classes focused on stretching, cardio and core strengthening. There will also be a juice bar; two massage rooms; manicure, pedicure and hair services; a sun deck with a large heated pool, whirlpool and pop-up sky bar; and a water sports platform at the rear of the ship, from which complimentary tours will be offered on a touring boat.

Group information

AmaWaterways offers groups various options for their cruise experience. Bookings for 35 passengers will see the group will get their own exclusive bus and English-speaking guide for shore excursions.
