Legend of the Seas, the cruise line’s newest Icon Class Ship, is said to be the one of the biggest cruise ships ever built. It is the first of the cruise line’s Icon-class ship to be based in Europe and will be joined by five other new ships in Europe in 2027.
With 20 decks, capacity for 5,610 guests and 2,350 crew, the ship also features:
- The “most dining at sea” with 28 options including Royal Railway - Legend Station, a five-course immersive train dining journey through the Silk Routes.
- Entertainment spanning stage, air, water and ice with shows such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and America’s Got Talent LIVE on Legend of the Seas.
- Seven pools including Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea at 5,813 square foot.
- Crown’s Edge - part skywalk, part zip line experience at 154 feet above the ocean along with a rock wall, Flowrider, waterpark and mini golf.
- Various types of accommodation you could imagine including a three-storey Ultimate Family Townhouse featuring a slide and entertainment spaces.
Legend of the Seas will set sail on seven-night Western Mediterranean adventures from Barcelona, Spain and Rome this summer before arriving in Florida in November for a season of Caribbean cruises.
Described as an “exceptional” build project in terms of scale and technical complexity, the Legend of the Seas is the company’s fourth ship powered by liquefied natural gas. Its president and CEO Michael Bayley said the ship was the “ultimate family vacation”.
