Kynren - An Epic Tale of England

It has been announced that the tickets for the second Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, in Durham, are now on sale.

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, taking place between 1st July and 16th September, is a live action spectacular, which involves light displays, music and entertainment.

This year’s event is said to have an even larger cast and crew to add to the visual display.

The show will see an increased number of dates available to buy tickets for, due to the anticipated level of demand.

Summary

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England features entertainment based around England’s history, including Roman times, World War Two, the Industrial Revolution and the 1920s.

Visitors watching will get to see displays of mass choreography, combat, dance, pyrotechnics and lighting and water effects.

This year, the show will involve 1,500 volunteers who will be joined on stage by a supporting cast of performing animals, including horses and cattle.

There will also be life size replicas of Norman longboats, steam trains, wagons and carriages.

The show will be set to a soundtrack composed by Nathan Stornetta, who has collaborated with Hollywood composers such as Hans Zimmer.

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England shows are expected to last approximately 90 minutes and will begin at sunset.

The show is set against the backdrop of Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.

The show is being directed by Steve Boyd, who was a mass choreographer for multiple Olympic and Commonwealth Games ceremonies, including London 2010, Glasgow 2014 and Rio 2016.
