Colours of Cluny

Organisers of light display, Colours of Cluny, which takes place in Scotland, have announced that tickets for the public will go on sale from Friday 23rd June.

The event is described as a ‘Northern Light Extravaganza’ and will feature light displays and walking trails for visitors.

The light event, located in Forres, will take place over 12 nights from 8th to 19th November this year. Group discounts are available for parties of ten or more people.

What to expect at the event

The sound and light show will enhance the dramatic landscapes of Forres’ Grant Park and Cluny Hill in a mixture of mesmerising sound and colourful light.

More than 12,500 visitors reportedly descended on Forres last November to enjoy the vibrant display of colour and sound during its inaugural 10-night run, enjoying more than 600 light fittings and consuming over 20,000 marshmallows.

This year the amount of visitors it attracts is expected to increase.

The event is staged by Forres Features Community Interest Company, a non-profit organisation formed by the local community in Forres.

Graham Murdoch, chairman of Forres Features Community Interest Company, commented: "We are delighted that preparations are well underway for Colours of Cluny 2017 and that the public are now able to secure their tickets for this very popular event.

“After the success of the show in 2016, we're looking forward to introducing many new and exciting sound and light concepts to make this year's show bigger and better than last year.”

Head of EventScotland, a company that helps fund the event, Stuart Turner, said: "Scotland is the perfect stage for cultural events, and this spectacular light and sound show will no doubt attract visitors from both the local area and further afield, making for a memorable visit to the stunning setting of Forres' Grant Park and Cluny Hill this autumn."
