Su Pollard as the Wicked Queen

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre has announced that actress and entertainer Su Pollard will star in its Christmas pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Pollard will take on the role of the Wicked Queen when the panto runs at the Buckinghamshire-based theatre from 8th to 31st December.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs follows the story of a beautiful girl called Snow White who takes refuge in a forest in the house of seven dwarfs to hide from her stepmother, the Wicked Queen.

Audiences can expect themes of friendship, love and betrayal, plus plenty of comedy, typical of a pantomime, along the way.

About Su Pollard

With over four decades of experience under her belt and a number of starring roles on stage and TV, Pollard has featured in the likes of Opportunity Knocks, Hi-de-Hi!, You Rang, M’Lord? Two Up, Two Down, and The Royal Variety Performance.

The Paul O’Grady Show, Richard and Judy, Songs of Praise, Weakest Link, Loose Women and This Morning are some of her other television credits.

Pollard’s theatre roles include Miss Hannigan in Annie in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore, and Maid Marian in the British tour of Ha Ha Hood! and the Prince of Leaves.

She’s also taken on West End roles in Godspell, Me and My Girl, Don’t Dress for Dinner, Menopause - the Musical and Shout! - the Swinging 60s Musical.

Pollard commented: “Brace yourselves Aylesbury! I love panto, and can’t wait to whip you all up into a festive frenzy. It may only be Spring but I’m expecting you to practise your boos and polish up your hisses. I like audiences loud and proud, it’s going to be wicked!”
