SHP Spirit Of Discovery

Saga Cruises has announced that its boutique cruise ship Spirit of Discovery and sister ship Spirit of Adventure will offer new all-inclusive drinks packages.

The Spirit of Discovery is the cruise line’s first boutique passenger ship and will be all-inclusive as of January 2020. Its sister ship, Spirit of Adventure, will join the fleet in August the same year and will be immediately all-inclusive.

The move will see all house spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks included in the cruise price. The package will run alongside already existing complimentary services including all meals, free WiFi and on-board entertainment.

Chief operating officer Nigel Blanks said: “The decision to go all-inclusive in 2020 had been made to ‘reaffirm our position as a niche luxury cruise operator’.”

Guests aboard the two new ships will also benefit from another move by the cruise line, which will see two staff to every three passengers.

Saga’s new ships:

The Spirit of Discovery, due to launch on 5th July 2019, is Saga’s first new build cruise ship and the first of two passenger ships currently being constructed. Its 2019 itineraries include the Baltic, Spain, and Scandinavia. The ship will also embark on a four-night mini-cruise to Holland, Germany and Belgium.

The Spirit of Adventure will launch in August 2020 and is expected to be similar in design to its sister ship. Its debut will see it replace the Saga Sapphire, which is due to be retired from the fleet.

Both ships will host 999 guests and 530 crew members.
