The Royal Mint Experience

The Royal Mint Experience in Wales will host a travel trade event on Monday 21st November for group travel organisers.

The Royal Mint Experience is situated north-west of Cardiff in Llantrisant, and has only recently opened to the public.

The Royal Mint's new visitor attraction will hold the event on Monday 21st November, and it will begin at 10.30am.

GTOs and travel trade members alike are invited to go behind the scenes at what’s described as the world's leading export mint to follow the journey of a coin from 'blank to bank'.

The guided factory experience will give visitors first-hand knowledge of the manufacturing journey, while a series of static and interactive exhibitions will bring the 1,000-year-old organisation's rich heritage to life.

The event has been organised in conjunction with UK travel trade specialist Steve Reed Tourism Ltd from Hampshire, with the support of local tourism businesses and Southern Wales Tourism.

Claire Evans, marketing manager for The Royal Mint Experience said: “Group travel organisers will find that their groups will be able to enjoy a superb and memorable insight into the UK's oldest manufacturer – the famous Royal Mint.

“We have high quality guided factory tours, an amazing exhibition, as well as a truly unique peek at thousands of coins being produced in the Striking Hall. Visitors are also given the opportunity to strike their own £1 coin as a super memento of their visit to The Royal Mint Experience.”

GTOs considering visiting the familiarisation event can find out more by visiting www.stevereedtourism.co.uk.
