Billy Cullum will play Mark Cohen in Rent.

Jonathan Larson’s award-winning musical Rent will celebrate its 20th anniversary this autumn and winter by going on a new UK tour.

Rent will run at the Theatr Clwyd in Wales from 21st October to 12th November before visiting other UK venues including Malvern Festival Theatre, His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen, and the Wycombe Swan.

The musical, directed by Bruce Guthrie, will then run throughout the Christmas period at St James Theatre, London, from 8th December to 28th January.

The UK tour will continue into 2017; dates and venues will be confirmed later in the year.

Ross Hunter (We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde) will play Roger Davis, and Billy Cullum (pictured) will play Mark Cohen. Cullum's theatre credits include Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Ryan O’Gorman (Les Misérables, Billy Elliot) will play Tom Collins; Shanay Holmes (The Bodyguard) will play Joanne Jefferson; and Layton Williams (Billy in Billy Elliot and the original young Michael Jackson in Thriller Live) will play Angel Schunard.

Other confirmed cats members include Philippa Stefani, Lucie Jones, Kevin Yates, Jordan Laviniere, and Christina Modestou.

Rent focuses on a group of bohemian artists struggling to maintain their friendships and their non-conformist ideals in New York's East Village.

Facing their problems head on, the characters make personal self-discoveries and find out what really matters most in life.

The score features songs such as Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me, One Song Glory, La Vie Bohème, Without You, and I’ll Cover You.

Inspired by Puccini’s classic opera La Boheme, Rent is the winner of four Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It originally ran on Broadway for 12 years.

Group travel organisers should contact their chosen venue for group rate and discounts.
