The London Palladium

Pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment will stage a Christmas run of Cinderella at the London Palladium – a venue that hasn’t staged a panto in almost 30 years.

The classic rags-to-riches tale of Cinderella will run from 9th December until 15th January 2017, and will be co-directed by Gypsy producer Michael Harrison and Mrs Henderson Presents choreographer Andrew Wright.

An all-star cast is due to be announced later in the year.

Panto at the Palladium

The London Palladium is said to have been synonymous with annual pantomimes from 1948 to 1987, and attracted stars including Julie Andrews, Sir Cliff Richard, Peter Sellers, Cilla Black and Ronnie Corbett.

The last pantomime to grace the London venue was Babes in the Wood which starred Dame Barbara Windsor, Cannon & Ball, and Rod Hull and Emu.

The London Palladium seats approximately 2,200 audience members. As well as the auditorium, there are two private bars – the Val Parnell Bar and the Cinderella Bar – and both these spaces can be used for a range of functions for up to 150 guests.

Qdos Entertainment

Qdos Entertainment has produced over 650 pantomimes. This year alone the company is producing 24 pantos in Britain, including Dick Whittington in Birmingham, Peter Pan in Bradford, and Aladdin in Glasgow.

Chairman Nick Thomas commented: "We are thrilled to be bringing pantomime back following an absence of nearly three decades with a sumptuous production that befits The Palladium's role as the home of pantomime in London."
