Ghost the Musical will make a return to the stage this summer, embarking on a UK tour for the first time since 2019.

Ghost the Musical will hit the road in August 2024.

Opening at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on 22nd August 2024, the musical is written by multi Brit Award winner Dave Stewart and Grammy Award winning Glen Ballard, with a script by Bruce Joel Rubin.

It’s said that the show brings all the romance and magic of the classic story to life on stage, with casting to be announced soon.

Tour dates include Liverpool Empire (3rd - 7th September 2024), Cheltenham Everyman Theatre (1st - 5th October 2024), Belgrade Coventry (22nd - 26th October 2024), Alhambra Theatre Bradford (29th October - 2nd November 2024), Theatre Royal Bath (19th - 23rd November 2024) and Blackpool Opera House (3rd - 7th December 2024). Jacqui Dubois took on the role of Oda Mae in the 2019 UK tour.

Ghost the film starred the late Patrick Swayze alongside Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg (who won the Oscar for Supporting Actress). The film dominated the box office in 1990 and earned an Oscar for screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, who has adapted his screenplay into a musical. 

As expected, the show features The Righteous Brothers’ Unchained Melody alongside many more songs that have been co-written by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

The plot of Ghost the Musical

Walking back to their apartment late one night, a tragic encounter sees Sam murdered and his girlfriend Molly alone, in despair and utterly lost. With the help of a phony store front psychic, Sam, trapped between this world and the next, tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving her from grave danger.
