New Production Of Ghost The Musical To Tour The UK %7C Group Theatre News %7C Ghost The Musical UK Tour - Sarah Harding as Molly and Andy Moss as Sam

This September, an all-new production of Ghost the Musical will begin a new tour of the UK, starring singer and actress Sarah Harding and actor Andy Moss.

The tour will open at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 10th September and visit cities including Bristol, Birmingham and Sunderland before closing on 22nd April at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

The new reimagining by Bill Kenwright will take inspiration from the classic 1990 movie and will feature an expanded book, new music and original staging.

Ghost tells the story of Sam and Molly, a couple who are torn apart when Sam is murdered during their walk back to their apartment late one night. Sam finds himself torn between this world and the next and, upon discovering the murderer might strike again, turns to phony psychic Oda Mae Brown in the hopes to communicate with and protect Molly.

The part of Molly will be played by Sarah Harding who is best known for being one fifth of the girl band, Girls Aloud. Her acting credits include Bad Day, Coronation Street and St Trinians 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold.

Sarah commented: “I’m absolutely delighted to be making my theatre debut in Ghost – The Musical. The film is one of my all-time favourites, so to get the opportunity to play Molly in Bill Kenwright’s new production is a huge honour for me and I can’t wait to get started!”

Meanwhile, the role of Sam will be played by Andy Moss, who is most famous for his eight year stint playing character Rhys Asworth in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. He most recently appeared in BBC’s Doctors.

The book will be by Bruce Joel Rubin, who also wrote the script for the original movie.

Rubin commented: “This is a show with such a strong emotional and musical life that it can mould to many visions and interpretations. It can be performed on any scale, and its vibrant heart will still captivate an audience and allows the imagination to flourish. It is purely theatrical in the greatest sense.”

Full casting is to be announced closer to the tour opening. Groups booking through ATG tickets will find group rates available for parties of ten or more.
