Get your tissues ready because after more than 30 years since The Notebook was published, groups can book tickets now to see the all-new musical adaptation when it arrives in London.

The production will be the first to be performed in the newly named Judi Dench Theatre, currently known as the Shaftesbury Theatre until the venue is renamed in February 2027.

Directed by Michael Greif and Schele Williams, The Notebook is set to open on 10th March 2027 and is currently booking until 11th December 2027. Casting is still to be announced.

Ingrid Michaelson has composed the music for the production and the original Broadway cast recording has received a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theatre Album.

The Notebook opened on Broadway in 2024 and is currently touring around America.

A global success

The classic romance follows the ups and downs of the relationship between Noah and Ally, a young couple living in South Carolina in the 1940’s. Having been born into two different worlds, the two are pulled apart by family meddling and conscription for World War Two but manage to keep finding their way back to one another.

Based on the debut novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook was later turned into a box-office hit in 2004, starring Ryan Gosling (Noah) and Rachel McAdams (Ally).

Nicholas Sparks said: “I couldn’t have predicted when I published The Notebook 30 years ago that this story would have such a lasting impact around the globe. The worldwide response has been incredible, and I’m thrilled to share this latest evolution of the story with audiences in London.”

The musical opened on Broadway in 2024 and has since charmed audiences across America on its tour of the country, which began last year. From dancing in the rain to renditions of “It’s Not Easy”, The Notebook is collecting rave reviews.
