This autumn, Longleat is inviting the public to visit its historic grounds to celebrate the distinguished Armed Forces, in a weekend of tribute.
On 29th and 30th September, Longleat will play host to a wealth of impressive armoured combat vehicles, interactive demonstrations, musical processions and inspiring individuals.
What to expect from the event?
When visiting you’ll get the chance to see a Challenger 2 Battle Tank and a Panther. Amongst these flagship vehicles, you will also see a Warrior, a Bulldog AFV, a Javelin 81mm mortar, Coyote tactical support vehicles and so many more.
Not only will you be able to get up close with these machines, but there will also be the chance to take part in interactive workshops using kits such as virtual reality headsets, as well as learning about some of the key skills needed when serving the country, from hand to hand combat all the way to rations cooking.
You will also see a military band performing a number of travelling musical performances across the grounds; the troupe will start with a backdrop at the front of Longleat House and will march through to the Main Square.
Another feature is set to be a glow-lit parachute display team. The parachutists will jump in formation giving a dramatic and glowing display of their capability before setting down at the front of Longleat House.
The capability of the Armed Forces will be displayed across the grounds, as well as in the events hub, the Longhouse and throughout each day groups will be immersed in an inspiring world of community and teamwork.
