More details have been released ahead of the opening of Kynren - The Storied Lands - which is billed as the UK’s first live-action show park. Groups can now book to visit the attraction in County Durham which opens in July.

Opening from 18th July to 12th September 2026, the daytime attraction in Bishop Auckland will feature five live shows and immersive experiences, which are all included within one ticket.
Travel trade and group bookings are now live for Kynren - The Storied Lands which will be open Tuesdays to Sundays.
Described by the CEO Anna Warnecke as a “game changer for Kynren and for the UK visitor experience”, the park is set to transport visitors back to Neolithic Britain and the era of the first settlers.

It’s a huge development for the team behind the evening show, Kynren - An Epic Tale of England, which has wowed groups for almost a decade.
Highlights of the theme park include:
The Lost Feather: More than 250 magnificent birds will take to the skies in an awe-inspiring celebration of flight and conservation.
Land of the Vikings: Explore the Viking settlement then take your seat as shields clash, fires rage and warriors collide in a high-energy show.
The Legend of the Wear: A vast lake becomes the stage for thrilling water stunts and a dramatic retelling of the Lambton worm myth.
The Trusty Steed: Medieval knights charge on horseback and a fearless female warrior proves her courage through daring feats and breathtaking skill.
Victorian Imaginariums: An outdoor maze of curious characters, unexpected encounters and surprising stories.

All experiences take place in purpose-built arenas or immersive environments, with accessible routes and seating to all areas. There is a choice of food and drink outlets and a themed play area for younger visitors.
Group bookings, combination tickets and dining options
Kynren – The Storied Lands is open throughout the summer season and guests follow a planned show schedule during their visit, allowing them to experience every major show and attraction across the day.
On Saturdays throughout the season, plus Friday 21st August and Friday 4th September, groups will be able to enjoy Kynren – The Storied Lands before ending their visit with Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, the award-winning night show that takes audiences on a journey through 2,000 years of history, performed on a 7.5-acre stage by a cast and crew of 1,000 volunteers.

Night show-only tickets are also available on these dates.
Groups attending the evening performance will also be able to dine through the centuries in the immersive pre-show Time Traveller’s Feast. It allows guests to step into the world of Kynren before the performance brings 2,000-years of history, myth and legend to life.
Kynren’s incredible success
Jonathan Ruffer, founder of 11 Arches, the charity behind Kynren, said many thought a decade ago that the grand plan for a night show at Flatts Farm in Bishop Auckland “was completely bonkers”.

He said: “A decade on, Kynren is one of the wonders of the North East, and there is no talk of the odds being against its survival – all are agreed that its success was effectively guaranteed, given the soundness of the business plan.
“As we prepare for the opening of Kynren – The Storied Lands, there is excitement a-plenty. What a difference those ten years have made! Kynren’s success has not only made the day park possible, but it has provided a springboard for its opening this year. No quivering shovels, just a settled determination to bring a gift of outstanding preciousness to Bishop Auckland.”
