It has been 30 years since Into The Woods was performed in London’s West End.

Jordan Fein’s award-winning production of Sondheim and Lapine’s iconic musical is set for a limited run at the Noël Coward Theatre from 7th October until 9th January 2027.

The production opened late last year at the Bridge Theatre, going on to win Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting Design at the Olivier Awards, and Best Ensemble or Cast and Best Designer at the Critics’ Circle Awards.

Most of the Bridge Theatre cast will be returning for the West End run. Kate Fleetwood, known for her Tony Award-nominated roles in Macbeth and London Road, as well as TV and film credits including Victoria, Philomena and The Wheel of Time, will be reprising her role of The Witch.

About Into The Woods

In Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s magical musical, the Baker, the Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red Ridinghood, Cinderella and Rapunzel take us beyond happy ever after to discover what really matters.

The main story follows the Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child, as they encounter the witch who cursed them and other storybook characters along the way. Intertwining the plots of several Brother’s Grimm fairytales, Into The Woods explores the wishes and desires of the characters, how far they’d go to make them come true, and the consequences that follow.

Into The Woods is the second collaboration between Sondheim and Lapine after Sunday in the Park with George. On its Broadway debut in 1986, Into The Woods won Tony Awards each for Sondheim (Best Original Score) and Lapine (Best Book).

In London it has had productions by Richard Jones (Phoenix Theatre, 1990), John Crowley (Donmar, 1998) and Timothy Sheader (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, 2010). This is its first major London production since 2016 and its first West End production in 30 years.

Tickets for the West End run are available now. Groups of ten or more receive a discount on Stalls and Royal Circle tickets on all Monday-Thursday performances.
