In The Heights%3A New Cast And Final Extension Announced %7C Group Theatre News

A final extended run at King’s Cross Theatre and new casting details have been announced for Broadway musical In The Heights.

In The Heights will now show at King’s Cross Theatre until Sunday 8th January as part of the musical’s third and final extension.

New cast members include Arun Blair-Mangot (Kinky Boots) as Benny, Juliet Gough (Matilda) and Stephanie Rojas (Wonder.land) as Carla.

Sarah Naudi, who has been with the show since it first opened at the Southwark Playhouse in 2014, will play the role of Vanessa, and Damian Buhagiar will return to the production as Sonny, after originating the role in 2014.

The cast continuing their roles include Sam MacKay (Wonder.land) as Usnavi, Gabriela Garcia (Ghost The Musical) as Nina, David Bedella (Jerry Springer – The Opera) as Kevin and Norma Attallah (The Sound of Music – Live) as Abuela.

Jonathan Bishop (The Lion King) will also continue his role of Graffiti Pete, and Piragua Guy will continue to be played by Vas Constanti (Flashdance).

Further casting is to be announced shortly.

About the show

In The Heights tells the story of a vibrant community on the brink of change in Manhattan. Three generations make up the community and the residents are filled with hopes, dreams and under various pressures. 

The contemporary musical boasts a Latin and hip-hop infused score, and is all about what it takes to make a living, what it costs to have a dream and what it means to call a place a  home.

Music and lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is also well known for his production of Hamilton.

Luke Sheppard directs, and choreography is by Drew McOnie.
