Groups Direct to celebrate Rendez-Vous Tall Ships Regatta 2017

Nautical fans will be able to admire a selection of tall ships assembled for the Rendez-Vous Tall Ships Regatta 2017 in an event organised by Groups Direct next April.

The Rendez-Vous Tall Ships Regatta will begin in Greenwich over the Easter weekend on 13th to 16th April 2017 and will see a fleet of approximately 40 large class A and B tall ships anchored at the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Royal Arsenal Riverside before they set sail for Quebec in Canada, via Portugal, Bermuda and Boston.

Groups will be able to experience the build up to the start of the regatta by cruising down the river Thames and sailing around the anchored tall ships whilst enjoying a barbecue with Groups Direct.

Alternatively, groups will also be able to explore the Royal Observatory and Planetarium before heading towards Greenwich Pier, where stalls, food stands, live music and photo opportunities will be available to enjoy. This Group Direct trip will culminate in cruising the river Thames to the O2 arena.

As part of the Rendez-Vous Tall Ships Regatta, a Parade of Sail will take place on Sunday 16thApril, which will see around 40 Tall Ships and a selection of small class C and D ships sail down the Thames in convoy.

Groups will then be able to wave the Tall Ships off as they leave Greenwich on Sunday evening. They are scheduled to arrive in Quebec on 18th July.
