The Kia Oval

A brand new tour called The Kia Oval Tour & Afternoon Tea has been revealed by Groups Direct, which will take groups around the cricket venue.

The Kia Oval is an international cricket ground in Kennington. The Oval has been the home of Surrey County Cricket Club since 1845.

Now, groups are invited to step inside the grounds and enjoy a 90 minute tour.

The tour will offer visits to the dressing room to see where the captains of both Surrey and England prepare their team on match days.

Visitors can also take a seat in the Test Match Special commentary box and enter the Committee room.

There is also a Club Museum which provides decades of history surrounding the sport.

Groups will then get to indulge in an afternoon tea in the member’s pavilion which overlooks the cricket ground. The afternoon tea will include finger sandwiches, cake, scones with jam and cream, and tea and coffee.

Extras

Groups can then extend their experience by adding the Beefeater Gin Tour, for an added price, at the Beefeater Gin Distillery.

Included in this will be a guided tour of the Distillery, plus a complimentary Gin & Tonic at the end of the tour.

The Kia Oval offers a variety of tours which take visitors behind the scenes of the grounds.

Special group rates are available by request.

More about Kia Oval

The ground has a lot of history including being the venue for the first ever test match in England which took place in 1880.

It was also the place where the Ashes were created in 1882.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the cricket ground also became a home away from home for West Indies teams.
