Groups will visit Hebden Bridge which is where Happy Valley star Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) lives.

The JG Travel Group has launched the five-day ‘Yorkshire’s Happy Valley & Brontë Steam’ break, themed around the drama which left our screens for good after a nail-biting finale.

Available through both Just Go! Holidays and National Holidays, the tour starts in Hebden Bridge which Happy Valley fans will recognise as the home town of protagonist Sergeant Catherine Cawood.

Sitting pretty in the Upper Calder Valley, this waterside town boasts atmospheric cobbled alleyways, a famous market and lovely views over Hebden Water.

Sowerby Bridge is the next stop, where Sally Wainwright, the show’s creator, grew up and it stars in the TV series.

There is the chance to see the exterior of Catherine’s house on Tuel Lane which plunges from the top of the valley to the town below and nearby is the former post office, which provided the on-screen police station. The full day locations tour ends in Halifax, where fans may recognise Harveys of Halifax department store from the show.

The break also includes a visit to Keighley, plus a scenic heritage train journey on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway through Brontë Country to Haworth is also included.

Julie Wilson, groups manager at JG Travel Group said: “Happy Valley has such a huge following of fans, first airing in 2014 and running for three series.

“I hope organisers in the relevant pickup areas will use the hype around the shows end as an opportunity to generate sales. We know how well our other tours sell that link to TV shows and I have no doubt that there will be plenty of interest from those who will miss watching the drama unfold in West Yorkshire.”

Departing on dates in June, July, August and September, the price of the tour includes return coach travel from the Midlands, Northeast and the Northwest, four nights’ accommodation with breakfast and dinner, the Happy Valley Locations tour, an excursion to Keighley and Haworth plus the heritage train journey mentioned (based on two sharing).
