There’s a range of activities for groups from surf lessons to team building away days at The Wave opening in Bristol next month.
The inland surfing lake, the first in the country, is open to people of all ages and abilities with special group packages available.
Sessions from Tuesday to Thursday can be reserved for organisations who would like to book regular sessions or a course of surf lessons.
Due to open on 18th November in Easter Compton, Bristol, the ground-breaking attraction aims to deliver more than 1,000 surfing waves every hour.
What’s on offer for groups?
The sessions are aimed at groups who want to share incredible experiences with friends and colleagues who want to have a go at surfing in a naturally healthy space:
- Activity Weekends can involve several surf sessions and food arranged for your members, offering the opportunity for friends and family to take part together.
- Corporate groups are also welcome with lessons tailored to abilities, from beginner to experienced surfers.
A typical two-hour Beginner Lesson at The Wave includes a group surf session with expert coaches (with dry land tuition and in-water coaching); wetsuits and surfboards are included for free. These lessons take place in ‘The Bay’ area while Advanced Surf sessions are held in ‘The Reef’ area.
About The Wave
It’s the brainchild of founder Nick Hounsfield who, working with CEO Craig Stoddart, wanted to provide naturally healthy spaces where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds could surf all year-round on consistent waves. The 180m long surfing lake will see a wave every eight to ten seconds, ranging from 1.7ft to 6.5ft in height.
There are plans to open The Wave London in Lee Valley in 2023.
