Get up close to dinosaurs at Prehistoric Planet, London

Based at London King’s Cross from 9th July, the latest show from Lightroom takes visitors on a journey to see dinosaurs closer than ever before, through storytelling, visual displays and sound technology.

Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs has been created in collaboration with Apple TV+ and explores the role dinosaurs have played in shaping our world from 66 million years ago until now.

A vast array of dinosaurs will feature, from Ammonites to Mosasaurs, Adaltheriums to the Tyrannosaurus rex. The impressive creatures will be presented during key moments of their lives in a state-of-the-art 360 degree projection which gives viewers the chance to see them in awe-inspiring scale and walk alongside them through habitats including deserts, skies and deep oceans.

Never seen before material, including exclusive extended CGI scenes and bespoke illustrations will feature in the 360 degree show which includes the original score by Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music. 

Mike Gunton, executive producer of Prehistoric Planet and BBC Studios Natural History Unit creative director said: “I always imagined Prehistoric Planet as like stepping into a time machine and travelling back to the time when dinosaurs ruled Planet Earth. The Lightroom experience will be just that!

“There’s nowhere else where you can be surrounded by the most amazing animals to have ever lived - see them all life-size, and really close-up, watch their dramatic lives unfold and understand what life was like 66 Million years ago. For a wildlife film-maker it’s a dream come true!”

Suitable for all ages and running until 2nd November 2025, each show lasts 50 minutes but audiences can stay for longer than one show. Groups of ten or more can take advantage of discounted tickets.
