Mamma Mia! will head out on a UK tour from October 2025, and additional dates now include runs at theatres in Hull, Llandudno, Blackpool, Birmingham and more going through to August 2026.

Mamma Mia! has visited more than 42 countries on a global tour.

The musical based on the songs of ABBA is set to open at Mayflower Theatre, Southampton on 24th October 2025, before visiting other venues including: Bristol Hippodrome, New Theatre, Oxford, Edinburgh Playhouse, Swansea Building Society Arena, His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Palace Theatre Manchester and Curve, Leicester. 

New venues and dates added to the tour in 2026 

Mamma Mia! is now also set to visit theatres in Hull, Llandudno, Blackpool, Birmingham, Truro, Leeds, Norwich, Eastbourne, Bournemouth and Glasgow on top of previously announced dates. 

The UK tour is currently scheduled to run until 29th August 2026 at Kings Theatre, Glasgow. Further dates and venues are also expected to be announced along with casting for the tour.

Mamma Mia! is set on the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi.

A much-loved story and iconic songs

Produced by Judy Craymer, Mamma Mia! tells the tale of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads unfolding on a Greek island idyll. As Sophie prepares for her wedding, she invites the three men who could be her dad without telling her mother Donna and they all arrive in time to see her walk down the aisle.

The show features music and lyrics by ABBA’s Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus and is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

Now in its 26th year, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 11 million people and has played over 10,000 performances in London’s West End. The international tour has visted over 42 countries,  performed more than 3,800 shows and has been seen by over 7.3 million people worldwide.

The musical was adapted into a film in 2008 which became the highest grossing live action musical film of all time upon its release. A second film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, opened in July 2018 and became the most successful live musical movie sequel of all time.

Both films starred Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper, with Lily James, Andy Garcia and Cher joining them in the second film. 

Group bookings for UK tour dates of Mamma Mia! are venue specific. The West End show continues to run at London’s Novello Theatre, with groups of ten or more able to enjoy discounted rates.
