Oscar-winning Ghost the Musical will tour the UK
Ghost the Musical will make a return to the stage this summer, embarking on a UK tour for the first time since 2019.
Details of the debut of Come From Away, arriving in London in January 2019, have been announced.
The musical will arrive at the Phoenix Theatre on 30th January, 2019 with a pre-West End engagement at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin from 6th December, 2018 until 19th January, 2019.
About the story
Come From Away is based on the true story of 7,000 air passengers that found themselves stranded in the small town of Newfoundland during the wake of 9/11.
The musical will recount how the residents of Gander welcomed passengers from planes across the world.
Audiences will be able to look on as clashing cultures, high nerves and uneasiness turn into trust, gratitude and friendships.
The cast of Come From Away
Starring in the premiere of Come From Away will be Jenna Boyd, Nathanael Campbell, Clive Carter, Mary Doherty and Robert Hands.
Jenna Boyd’s previous theatre credits include The Wind in the Willows, Oliver! and Love on the Links. Nathanael Campbell’s most recently appeared in Guys & Dolls, with previous credits including Sunny Afternoon, Back to the Future and Macbeth. Meanwhile Clive Carter’s previously played in Wicked, Mary Doherty in Les Miserables, and Robert Hands in Mammia Mia! on stage and in Doctor Who on screen.
Joining them will be Helen Hobson, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Harry Morrison, Emma Salvo and David Shannon. All cast members will be taking on several characters.
The production
The musical has already earned widespread critical and audience acclaim, with record-breaking engagements on Broadway and in Canada, a 60-city North American Tour recently launched in Seattle, an Australian production confirmed for summer 2019 and works in place on a feature film adaptation.
Come From Away features a book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, with direction by Christopher Ashley and musical staging by Kelly Devine.
Group information
Varying group rates are available (for groups of six plus and 20 or more) from Monday to Friday evenings, including Wednesday matinees.
Special accelerator rates are available for groups of ten or more booking before 23rd November 2018 on Monday to Thursday evening performances, and Wednesday matinees.
