The first Scampton Airshow will take place in September 2017 and will include a five-hour flying display as well as exhibitions featuring modern fast jets and historic aircraft.
Taking place at RAF Scampton, the home of the Red Arrows, the airshow will take place over two days on 9th and 10th September 2017.
As well as watching the flying display, groups will be able to discover the breadth of roles that the service offers in the Royal Air Force Village. There, the current operation and the next generation technology and equipment used by the men and women of the RAF will also be highlighted.
Visitors will also be able to visit the RAF Scampton Heritage Centre, which will display some of the aircraft and depict the operations that have occurred in Scampton, including the famous Dambusters raid.
Groups with children will be able to explore the Techno Zone where science, technology, engineering and maths will be brought to life in a range of activities aimed at inspiring the next generation of engineers.
The RAF Charitable Trust (RAFCT) chairman, Air Marshal Sir Kevin Leeson, said: “The east of England is a heartland of the Royal Air Force and has an enormous number of aviation enthusiasts. Bringing a new airshow to the area is an exciting prospect that will involve a lot of planning and support.
“Our charity is delighted to rise to the challenge of staging an aviation spectacle befitting an RAF station that was once the base of the legendary 617 Dambusters’ Squadron and is now home to the world famous Red Arrows.”
Tickets are expected to go on sale soon and coach parties of 20 or more will be able to benefit from admission discounts. Free coach parking and entry for the coach driver will also be available.
