The original Japanese stage production of Spirited Away will open at the London Coliseum, bringing the magical spectacular to Europe for the very first time.

Spirited Away, Japan

Kanna Hashimoto stars as Chihiro in the sell-out Japanese hit show.

Running from 30th April until 24th August 2024, Spirited Away is based on the 2001 animated feature film of the same name from director Hayao Miyazaki and is described as a masterpiece of storytelling on the stage.

Following a sell-out tour across Japan in 2022, the original Japanese cast including Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi, who share the role of Chihiro, will perform once again but for a new audience in London, presented authentically in Japanese but with English subtitles.

The show is said to be brought to life by a ‘beautiful live score and dazzling set designs’ which helps transport theatregoers into a fantasy world.

What is Spirited Away about?

Spirited Away tells the enchanting tale of Chihiro who, while travelling to a new home with her family, stumbles into a world of fantastic spirits ruled over by the sorceress Yubaba.
