Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) has announced the launch of its third consecutive Columbus Grand Round the World Cruise in 2020, on sale now.

Columbus will sail from London Tilbury on 6th January 2020 on a 120-night escape, circumnavigating the globe over 43,000 nautical miles. Five continents, 27 countries, and 38 ports of call are on the agenda.

What’s on the voyage?

Columbus will sail westbound via the Caribbean, South America, the Panama Canal, and across the Pacific Ocean visiting Polynesian Islands, Tonga and Fiji. Then it’s on to New Zealand and Australia including visits to Auckland, Sydney, the Whitsundays and a chance to visit the Great Barrier Reef.

The ship will then head for the Far East via Papua New Guinea to Japan, China and Hong Kong.

The next leg of the voyage is via Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand and then on to Singapore before the homebound journey visiting Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Egypt, Jordan and the Holy Land via the Suez to the Mediterranean.

The ship returns to London Tilbury on 5th May 2020.

Highlights of the round the world cruise will include transiting the Panama Canal, crossing the equator, an overnight stay in Tahiti, crossing the International Date Line, the Whitsundays and Yorkey’s Knob for tours to the Great Barrier Reef.

There will also be the chance to explore Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Sri Lanka and India with the opportunity to take an excursion to see the Taj Mahal.
