Viking Cruises has announced its 2027/28 expedition and ocean cruise itineraries spanning all seven continents, featuring a real mix from a rare journey into the Antarctic Circle, a British Isles option, and the inaugural season of its newest vessel, Viking Lyra.
The expedition and ocean cruises are destination-focused and provide itineraries across all seven continents and five oceans.
The new sailing dates include itineraries on Viking’s latest ocean ship, Viking Lyra, which is scheduled to join the fleet in 2028. The vessel will spend its inaugral season in the Mediterranean and Scandinavia.
Viking’s Antarctic Circle expedition unveiled
Viking’s latest itinerary, Into the Antarctic Circle, offers guests the rare opportunity to sail into the Antarctic Circle and explore the polar region, home to rare wildlife and ice-laden waters.

Exploring the British Isles with Viking
Other highlights in the 2027/28 itineraries include British Isles Explorer, a 15-day cruise beginning in Bergen, Norway, taking guests through the British Isles, from the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland to modern Belfast and traditional Dublin. The voyage concludes in Greenwich, London.
All of Viking’s ships carry up to 930 guests and are small enough to access most ports. The fleet have a modern Scandinavian design and feature a selection of restaurants, bar areas, swimming pools and spaces to relax during a voyage.
Key itineraries for Viking’s 2027-28 season
Into the Antarctic Circle (15 days; Buenos Aires – Ushuaia) – Sail across the 66°33′ line of latitude into the Antarctic Circle. Venture into this untouched polar region that teems with remarkable wildlife, navigate narrow channels by Zodiac, kayak ice-laden waters and participate in meaningful science with resident experts from partner organisations such as the University of Cambridge’s Scott Polar Research Institute.
South America & the Chilean Fjords (18 days; Buenos Aires – Santiago) – Soak in the eclectic mix of Latin and European influences in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires, visit Port Stanley, home to more than one million penguins and explore the scenic surroundings of Ushuaia, the city at the “End of the World.” Sail through the Strait of Magellan, passing rugged mountain peaks and blue-tinted icebergs and experience Chile’s vibrant capital city, Santiago.
Viking Homelands (15 days; Stockholm – Bergen) – Sail the clear waters of Scandinavia and the Baltic and enjoy stays in Stockholm, Oslo and Bergen. Discover the historic cities of Tallinn and Gdańsk and view breathtaking scenery from the ship as it glides through fjords.
Great Lakes Collection (15 days; Toronto – Duluth) – Explore the historic waterways of all five of the majestic Great Lakes. Sail scenic shorelines, explore storied cities and admire the power of Niagara Falls.
