Jenny Seagrove, Peter Bowles, and Adam Garcia will star is Sean Mathia’s new stage production of The Exorcist.

The show will play a limited run at the Phoenix Theatre from 20th October 2017 to 10th March 2018.

The show comes 45 years after William Peter Blatty’s best-selling novel by the same name. The Exorcist will be hit the West End stage for the very first time in a theatrical experience directed by Sean Mathias and adapted for the stage by John Pielmeier.

Synopsis: The Exorcist

The Exorcist is about the demonic possession of twelve-year-old Regan MacNeil, the daughter of famous actors. Two priests, Father Damien Karras and Father Lankester Marrin, visit their home in Georgetown in an attempt to rid Regan from the demon, called Pazuzu.

Audiences will watch as Father Damien attempts to tackle what’s before him, while trying to overcome his own shaken beliefs at the same time.

Ticket buyers should note that this production contains material which ‘may shock and offend’. There is also a recommended age guidance of 18 and above.

Casting

Jenny Seagrove will play Chris MacNeil, opposite Peter Bowles as Father Lankester Merrin. Adam Garcia will star as Father Damien Karras.

Seagrove’s theatre credits include Alan Ayckbourn’s How The Other Half Loves at the Haymarket, Brief Encounter, Volcano, Tennessee Williams’ Night Of The Iguana, David Rabe’s Hurlyburly and The Country Girl with Martin Shaw

Bowles’s West End theatre credits include Hay Fever with Judi Dench at Theatre Royal Haymarket, Archie Rice in John Osborne’s The Entertainer and several leading roles in classic plays for Sir Peter Hall.

Garcia is a two-time Olivier Award nominee, and was last seen in the West End in the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s The Winter’s Tale and recently starred in the world premiere of Kevin Elyot’s last play Twilight Song

Further casting includes Clare Louise Connolly as Regan, Todd Boyce as Doctor Strong, Mitchell Mullen as Doctor Klein, Elliot Harper as Father Joe and Tristram Wymark as Burke.
