Beautiful- The Carole King Musical

The booking period for Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, which is based on the life of musician Carole King, has been extended until November 2017.

In addition to the extended booking period, a further 130,000 tickets will go on sale. The release coincides with the musical’s second anniversary in London.

The musical is currently running at the Aldwych Theatre in London, and groups of 15 or more people can benefit from discounted ticket rates. 

Summary

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is the untold story of King’s journey to stardom. It follows her relationship with her husband and song writing partner Gerry Goffin, as well as their friendship and rivalry with fellow song writing duo Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

The musical features popular songs including So Far Away, It Might as Well Rain Until September, Take Good Care of My Baby, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Up on the Roof, Locomotion, One Fine Day, You’ve Got a Friend, and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.

The West End cast includes Cassidy Janson as Carole King and Matthew Seadon-Young as Gerry Goffin. 

More about the production

The book for the show is by Douglas McGrath, with words and music by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. The production is directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Josh Prince.

The show opened in the West End in 2015, after its success on Broadway the previous year.

In addition to the West End production, the show will also have a UK tour which will start in September.
