Christmas Artisan Craft Market

The Bishop’s Palace in Wells, Somerset, has released the dates for its annual Christmas Artisan Craft Market.

The market will run from 4th to 6th November, and will be open each of those days from 10am until 4pm.

The market will offer a range of over 30 stalls of locally handmade crafts and products to browse, including decoupage items, woodwork, ceramics, stained glass, pressed flowers and home furnishings.

The Artisan Market will also offer a range of drop-in workshops, live demonstrations and multiple opportunities for groups to try their hand at something new. This session will be led by craftspeople and artists. Details will be announced shortly.

Seasonal food and drink will be available, and musical performances will also take place in the chapel throughout the three days.

Tickets are available to buy now; group travel organisers can benefit from discounted admission when booking for parties of ten or more.

More about The Bishop’s Palace

The Bishop’s Palace is the 800 year old home of the Bishops of Bath & Wells.

The Medieval palace is also home to the wells and ancient springs that give the City of Wells its name, and the famous mute swans that ring a bell alongside the Gatehouse when they want their food.

The palace buildings that are open to the public include a Medieval undercroft (church crypt), a Long Gallery hung with portraits of former bishops, an exhibition space and a chapel.

In addition to inside, visitors can also explore outside, which is made up of 14 acres of gardens and includes an arboretum, the ruined Great Hall, waterfalls and well pools.
