New at Beaulieu in 2019

There will be plenty for groups to enjoy at Beaulieu in 2019, with new special tours and exhibitions providing additional reasons to visit the site throughout the year.

Group falconry tours, the first professional sculpture trail at the site and new exhibitions are among the offerings in Beaulieu’s 2019 line-up.

Details of the 2019 programme

For the first time, Beaulieu will host a professional sculpture exhibition, featuring the work of 45 national and international sculptures throughout the grounds from May 25th to July 14th.

A new tour for 2019 includes Falconry, which offers groups a chance to meet Lord Montagu’s first official falconer and visit the new Abbot’s Mews exhibition.

Groups can discover Beaulieu’s history of falconry, which can be traced back to the 11th century, and see a live demonstration of the birds of prey in flight at Beaulieu Abbey.

On until November 2019, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 50 years exhibition offers a behind-the-scenes look at the much-loved musical film. The original screen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be on display, alongside the original Child Catcher carriage, a replica Grandpa Potts’ hut, the inventive machines of Rowland Emett, the Humber 8hp driven by Truly Scrumptious and original storyboard artwork, never before exhibited.

In the National Motor Museum, special group tours will be on offer. The new tours include For Britain & For The Hell Of It featuring iconic Land Speed Record breakers, The Luxury of Motoring which includes Beaulieu’s new display of 25 Lalique car mascots, Road, Race & Rally, The Motorcycle Story, and Chief Engineer’s Tour.

Throughout the year, Victorian Kitchen tours in Palace House will provide an insight into the work that takes place in the kitchen of a country house, along with the chance to meet Mrs Hale in the recently restored Victorian Kitchen.

Finally, groups will be able to round off the year with a visit to Christmas at Beaulieu in December, when the light trail will return to the site once more.
