Love Letters, by playwright A.R. Gurney, is described as ‘an enduring romance about first loves and second chances’.

The play will tour UK venues following a critically-acclaimed Broadway run and a sell-out US tour. Confirmed venues in addition to the theatre in Bath include Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre and the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.

Love Letters will tour until 9th December, when it will close at the Bord Gais Theatre in Dublin. Tickets are on sale now, or else going on sale in the next few weeks. Group travel organisers should contact their chosen venue for information on group rates.

Synopsis

Love Letters is about a love affair lasting over 50 years, beginning with a love letter written at the age of seven by Andrew Makepeace Ladd III to Melissa Gardner.

Audiences will watch as, through personal triumphs and despair, through wars and marriages and children and careers, the couple pour their heartfelt secrets to each other, and live for the one most meaningful thing: their undying love for each other.

Love Letters will star Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal in the lead roles. MacGraw is an American actress, model, and author, well-known for her role in the 1969 film Goodbye, Columbus, for which she won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer.

O’Neal, an American actor, is best known for his roles in the films Love Story, for which he received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations as Best Actor, What’s Up, Doc?, and Paper Moon.
